The Pottery Album
Since the pottery-record thing was incredibly popular (4 comments? And none of them made fun of me? WOW!), I thought I would clarify things. That pottery thingy is supposedly from Pompeii or something. And when they used their clever "lazers" to detect little bumbs in the pot they were able to decode those indents (as if they were grooves on a record) to actually play back sounds from the shop in which the pot was made. You can hear a guy laughing. I'm guessing he wouldn't be lauging if someone told him that the giant frikin' volcano they live next to was about to explode and decimate the entire city. So anyways...that technique lets us spy on people who lived thousands of years ago. Pretty creepy huh?

Well, let me use MY clever lazers to make some (more) observations:
1) How did Mike know all that? Does he *really* know French that well?! Can someone who speaks the language please confirm or deny his outlandish "bumps speak to us through time" interpretation of that video.
2) Wait, so... sounds in rooms can make pottery into a listening device by denting it?! If that's true, then unfired clay is going to be the espionage material of choice for the 21st century! Brilliant! "Here is your new clay credenza, Mr. President... A gift from the Hopi."
HAHAHAHA
